The Kindness Research Foundation was founded as a not for profit company limited by guarantee in October, 2014. The Foundation adopted its current name and appointed the following officers in July, 2017:

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors assisted by an Advisory Board, Chaired by Professor David Canter.
